From Gethsemani Abbey

mk040603: " Father McKenzie says that there is no Hebrew word for 'thunder'. They use voice instead. Which leads to a lot of happy confusion. It would take no great imagination for any of us to think of a voice of God when we hear thunder. That an earlier people did so is no surprise. But it does seem clear that at least on three occasions there was a real Voice, not merely thunder, and all were at very significant times in the life of Jesus. "

passion liturgy

How great the sorrow. The liturgy of the passion is a day of sorrow. We sit and let waves of sadness, waves of grief, waves of reality flow over us.
